Williamsville-based developer North Forest Office Space, which specializes in cookie-cutter construction of small office suites, is expanding its local workforce by nearly 20 percent, as it starts construction on nine new projects in Texas and Colorado.
North Forest has added one person each in marketing, human resources, accounting and administration, as well as two in information technology, to handle its growing real estate portfolio both locally and out west. The company now employs 40, with nearly half in Western New York.
Founded in 1987, the firm is starting its first project in the Dallas area, in the northern suburb of Frisco, where construction will begin later this month on a two-building office park with 25,000 square feet of space. The park is expected to be available in early 2016.
It also started construction on seven projects in suburban Austin, including new office parks in Buda, Georgetown, Kyle, Leander, Round Rock and South Austin, as well as an expansion of one in Cedar Park. In all, those projects will add 100,000 square feet of space, and will also be available starting early next year.
Finally, North Forest will add two new buildings to its Brighton office park outside of Denver, after finishing two other projects in nearby Firestone and Thornton, Colo.
"We are excited to pursue new opportunities throughout the country, but our roots are here in the Buffalo area," said company President Dave Merrell. "With our headquarters in Williamsville and a large local portfolio, we will continue to provide a simple and easy leasing experience to small business owners and medical and dental practices in the Buffalo area and all markets we serve."
